Scientific seminar as part of the Erasmus + project
The Center for Family Research of Nicolaus Copernicus University was the organizer of a scientific seminar on 22-24 May, 2019, titled "Increasing accessibility of integrated ECEC- services to support all families with young children" as part of the Erasmus + project. The project runs from November 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020.
Participants of the scientific meeting in Toruń were from the coordinating organization Kind en Genzin from Belgium and project partners: Vernieuwing in de Basisvoorzieningen voor Jonge Kinderen (VBJK) from Belgium; The National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), Finland; MALA ULICA from Slovenia; Tromsø University, Norway; and the Center for Family Research of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland.
This was the second international seminar under the Erasmus + project. The theme was the approach to social work to strengthen the position of families and the implementation of social rights in Poland.
Subsequent scientific seminars are planned for October 2019 in Finland and for 2020 in Slovenia and Norway.
These three-day international scientific seminars focus on increasing cooperation, integration, and availability of services and childcare to support all families with young children, especially those struggling with various problems.
There are two dimensions to these seminars: round table discussions and study visits to institutions proposed by the host country. In Toruń, visits were made to the Municipal Family Support Center, the Oratory Michalici of Torun, Tenement House of Initiatives, and the "Krasnal" Kindergarten.
The goals of the whole project are to: exchange good practices, insights, and draw inspiration from visited countries; and to implement new innovative ideas to increase the integration, accessibility and cooperation of services for childcare in countries participating in the Erasmus + project.
