I International Scientific Conference of Research on Family Services


 The Center for Family Research Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń has a great pleasure to invite you to

1st International Scientific Conference of Research on Family Services

that will be held in Toruń on 11th -13th March 2019.

The main objective of the conference is to enable and promote a scientific debate on family services and institutions providing such services. The International Scientific Conference of Research on Family Research aims to launch a discussion on the cooperation of local institutions supporting families. Our primary goal is to create an interdisciplinary debate and a common platform where researchers can exchange and compare their research findings, experiences, identify good practices and action recommendations on children and family welfare.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

       supporting family in local environment – theoretical and practical context,

       cooperation in child and family services,

       social innovation and modern technology as a tool to improve Family Services,

       evaluation of Family Services,

       institutions supporting families,

       researches on family in crisis – methodological aspects,

       axiological perspectives in family-centered theory and practice.

 

High priority is given to the interdisciplinary nature of the conference. We believe that the discussion undertaken by representatives of different academic disciplines can lead to better cooperation in institutions supporting families.

The conference will be held in English. Preference will be given to articles resulting from the empirical research.

Center for Family Research started on 1st of April 2018 yr. realisation of three-year research project, within the framework of Operational Programme: Knowledge, Education, Development 2014-2020, financed from European Social Fund.

Project, entitled Cooperation – effective and successful, concerns development and testing of model of cooperation between social services bodies and social integration bodies, and subjects of others sectoral policies, which would provide effective and comprehensive support for families in a situations of crisis and different deficits.

Leader of project is Regional Centre of Social Policy in Toruń. In project, besides our CfFR, are involved following partners:

  • The Lubuskie Voivodeship – represented by Regional Centre of Social Policy in Zielona Góra
  • The Pomorskie Voivodeship represented by Regional Centre of Social Policy in Gdańsk
  • The Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship represented by Regional Centre of Social Policy in Olsztyn
  • The Wielkopolskie Voivodeship represented by Regional Centre of Social Policy in Poznań
  • The Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship represented by Regional Centre of Social Policy in Szczecin

8th EUROPEAN CONFERENCE FOR SOCIAL WORK RESEARCH (ESWRA 2018) UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH SCOTLAND

 

Representative of our Center for Family Research – Jarosław Przeperski, Ph.D., during the 8th European Conference For Social Work Research (ESWRA 2018), which took place at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, presented results of his research, concerning integration of services in favour of families. Presentation entitled „Exploring the interprofessional cooperation of child and family welfare institutions”, met with friendly reception.

Conference, which congregated over 600 researchers, was an opportunity to many scientific meetings, discussions concerning social work with families, as well as promotion of our Center. We hope, that these kinds of appointments, will contribute to strong internationalisation of Center and to conducting studies in groups composed of researchers from various countries.

Moreover,  within the framework structure of ESWRA (The European Social Work Research Association) was created special body, which will consider issue of social work in post-socialist countries. Jarosław Przeperski, Ph.D., became one of the moderators of the group.

Daniel Moulin-Stożek Ph.D.: How successfully publish in highly rated journals?

Daniel Moulin-Stożek Ph.D., sociologist, graduate of  University in Oxford, actually related with University in Warwick (Associate Fellow) and in Birmingham (Senior Research Fellow) came forth with effective methods, which allow to successful publishing scientific articles in highly rated journals. Ph.D. Moulin cocreators „Jubilee Center for Character and Virtue”, he pursued grant projects and is also a member of editorial office of prestigious magazine „Journal of Beliefs and Values”, top-ranked on Scopus list (birmingham.ac.uk/…/ed…/moulin-stozek-daniel.aspx). He published among others in „Oxford Review of Education”, „Journal of Ecclesiastical History” or „Journal of Moral Education”. Lecture took place on 6th of April 2018 yr. in Interdisciplinary Center of Modern Technologies of NCU.

Visit of Sasa Horvat Ph.D. from the University in Zagreb

On March 14th 2018, Sasa Horvat Ph.D. from the University in Zagreb, was hosted by us. The meeting was devoted to the perspectives of cooperation in research on transitions of family functioning in Croatia and Poland. We received a pleasant souvenir from our guest: a book In Search Of Identity by Josip Baloban, Zagreb 2005, ISBN: 9532122567 (hd.bd.); 9789532122565 (hd.bd.).
